How do I get a vehicle?

There are several ways of acquiring a vehicle. Depending on your starting planet you should receive the basic form of transportation by doing the beginner quests. If you want to have a more advanced vehicle you can buy one from other players either via the auction or direct trade.

There are a large variety of vehicles in the Entropia Universe, and you can find one for any situation. There are vehicles for traveling on the ground, over water, through the air and even between planets in space.

How does the Message Center and Contact UI work?

Message Center
A new message center that will handle all message types has been added with the following functions:

  • You have 5 different message types that you can filter; Auction, Notes, Messages, System and Global
  • The filter button displays how many new unread messages you have.
  • The messages have an indicator if they have been read or not.
  • The Message Center can be minimized for your convenience. New messages will show with and indicator and flash on any new activity.
  • You can now send offline messages via the create new message button, a new Conversation UI will open where you can also add multiple recipients up to a maximum of 10.
  • You can now create Notes that are can be placed, resized and colored anywhere on the dashboard that are saved until deleted.
  • You can drag most messages for edit or reading from message center to dashboard.
  • Message Center can be moved and resized in height.

Contacts
A new Contacts UI has been added where you find information about friends, society and nearby avatars. There is also a Player Profile connected to this.

  • You can set your online status through a selector; Online, Invisible, Do Not Disturb, Away from Keyboard
  • There is a filter panel with several options:

Context flags
Player Registry
SearchFilter - Applicants, Disciple, Society, Team, Friends, Nearby

  • Context flags show icons on listed avatars to show your connection to them.
  • Player Registry is where you can search for avatars in Entropia. A new button has been added, Copy Avatar Link.
  • You can list avatars via filter panel. Search will work on selected filter settings. Nearby lists all avatars in radar radius.
  • A player profile has been added and can be accessed through context menu on the avatar profile picture. In the player profile you can set biography, set displayed name and chose profile picture.
  • Avatars in contact list can be expanded for more detailed information about Location, Profession, Biography, Mentor Status, Society. You can also access private chat, Send message and all other options through context menu on the player profile picture.
  • Contacts UI can be moved and resized in height.
     

I cannot claim my estate

  1. Make sure you have the Estate Deed in your carried inventory.
  2. Check the items info of the deed to verify that you are standing at the right estate terminal.

If you still cannot claim the estate after trying the above suggestions, please contact Entropia Universe Support.

I dropped a bomb/probe, but the search interface never appeared

If you experience lag, there might be a delay before the search screen appears. If, during this time, you drop another bomb/probe, the first session will automatically be canceled and you will lose that search.

I get an error when trying to sell my vehicle

This is most likely because it is not possible to sell a vehicle that still has oil in it. Please extract the oil and then try selling the vehicle again. If you are still experiencing difficulties after this then please contact Support by sending in a case.

I get the message "The loot was claimed by someone else"

The loot is given to a participant or a team based on inflicted damage. It could be that the creature was hit by another avatar before you entered the area. The other avatar may for some reason have disappeared, logged out, been killed etc.

I have found a resource, but I cannot get close enough to excavate it

Sometimes resources are inaccessible. They might be stuck under trees, stones, turrets or buildings or they can be located on steep slopes which your avatar cannot climb.

You can extract the claim by choosing to summon it by right-clicking on the deed and selecting "Summon claim". Please keep in mind that your movement will be locked while the claim is being summoned.

I receive the message A timeout has occurred during the login process

Go to your account pages, click the Manage Account button and make sure any settings under Contact Information are not empty. If there is any information missing please fill it out and then try to login again.

I sold my item to the Trade Terminal, is it possible to get it back?

It is possible to get an item you sold to the Trade Terminal back. However, this is not part of our regular service so an administrative fee of 1000 PED plus the Trade Terminal value of the item will be charged for each item that you wish to have recreated.

All requests must be submitted in a Support Case within 7 days of the incident. Please include the full exact name of the item, the date and the time of the transaction.

To avoid selling items to the Trade Terminal unintentionally, make sure to carefully check all items involved in the transaction before you confirm it.

I spawned my vehicle and it disappeared!

This can sometimes happen when you just started playing and the client has not fully been downloaded. The vehicle can be retrieved from your storage. If you can't find it in your storage we suggest that you restart the client by relogging.

I used a limited blueprint and now it has disappeared. What happened?

Certain blueprints of a limited edition can only be used a certain number of times. You can see its current statistics by right-clicking on the item. Once its Manufacturing attempts are used up, the blueprint is not returned.

I want to change the name of my society

If you are the leader, or have been given the correct access, of an established society you can change the information, name and hierarchy template in the society terminal.

If your society is still in pending mode (newly created) this information can not be changed.

Please note that it may take up to 7 days for any changes to take effect.

I want to disband my society

If you are in an established (approved) society and you operate as the Leader of the Society, you can start the disbanding process yourself at the Society Terminal. It takes seven days to be completed and during this time, the members of the society will be informed about the dissolution and, if you change your mind, you can interrupt the process.

If you are in a pending (not yet approved) society with additional members we can not disband it. You can, however, disband it yourself once it's been approved. If you are the only member of the society we kindly ask you to contact the Support Department with your request and we can disband your society manually.

My avatar is stuck and unable to move in any direction

Press the action called TELEPORT in the Action Library (or key T by default on keyboard) and your avatar will be teleported to a nearby revival terminal.

If this does not resolve your situation, contact Entropia Universe Support.

My item is missing, please help me find it!

If you are missing an item we suggest to check the following places before contacting support:

  • Check the "My items" list on our homepage (require that you log in to your account page)
  • Check at the bottom of your inventory tabs, sometimes the items are further down in the inventory window
  • Check storage and containers. Please note that storage is planet specific, so if you recently visited a different planet it may be there.
  • If you have more than 500 items in one planetary storage some items may not be displayed. In this case try to merge your stacks using the right click option Merge All Stacks, organise items in storage boxes or e.g. use vehicle inventories as storage containers.
  • In the case of an amplifier, please check so it's not attached to any of your weapons/tools.

If you still are unable to find your item we suggest that you contact support by sending in a case. Kindly add relevant information such as the full name of the items and approximate time of when you saw the item last. Please note that the Support Department only can search for lost items as far back as 6 months.

 

My vehicle is no longer where I parked it! What happened?

Whenever you log out, if you have a spawned vehicle, it will automatically be sent to your storage after a short period of time. The same happens if your vehicle gets out of your radar zone for a while.

Also sometimes vehicles get placed at the very bottom of the inventory window, try to scroll down to the bottom to see if your vehicle is there.

Not all the lamps in my house are working

This is probably due to the fact that you have more than 8 light sources in that room. At the moment, this is the maximum amount of light sources you can have active at the same time.

Text stay after I have sent the message

This is most likely because the option "Keep Main Chat focus when entering text" is enabled. To turn this off go to Options -> Interface -> Remove the check mark after "Keep Main Chat focus when entering text".

Now the text in the input field should disappear when the message is sent to a channel.

What can I do with the main chat? What commands are available?

Main Chat
All text communication originates from chat channels. The default chat channels are: Local, Trade, System, Globals, Rookie, Society, Society Seniors & Private Messages.

Custom channels can also be created using the /create command (see below). By default, custom channels are private; the creator of the channel can then invite other members to the channel. Alternatively, custom channels can be made public using the /set command (see below), which allows other participants to /join a public custom channel.

The communications from channels are displayed in chat tabs. There are two default tabs, Main and System, which cannot be removed from the main chat window and have some restrictions on channel management. Custom chat tabs can be created by right-clicking on an existing chat tab and clicking the New Tab option. The right-click context menu also offers other tab customization options, such as setting the fade, color and channel settings of a tab. A chat window can have a maximum of 10 chat tabs. Additional chat windows can be created by dragging a custom chat tabs header outside of the main chat window. Detached custom tabs can then be grouped together in a new chat window.

Other Features

  • New messages in unfocused chat tabs display an indicator when the tab contain unviewed messages.
  • Links, avatar names, channels and items can be copied to the clipboard via the right-click context menu.
  • All links have a set of options accessible through the right-click context menu.
  • You now have a permanent ignore list. Use the right-click context menu or the /ignore command to ignore a player. View your ignore list with the /ignorelist command.
  • The TAB key can be used to auto-complete avatar names in commands.
  • The TAB key can be used to switch channels when the input field for a chat tab is in focus.
  • A voice quick bar is available for options, mute and mic.

Commands:

Privacy Status Commands

  • /afk - Sets privacy status to AFK (Away From Keyboard).
  • /dnd - Sets privacy status to DND (Do Not Disturb).
  • /invisible - Sets privacy status to invisible mode.
  • /online - Sets privacy status to online.

Channel Input Commands

  • /custom - Change the current input channel to an existing custom channel.
  • /local - Change the current input channel to the Local default channel.
  • /officers - Change the current input channel to the Society Seniors default channel.
  • /rookie - Change the current input to the Rookie default channel.
  • /society - Change the current input to the Society default channel.
  • /team - Change the current input to the current Team channel.
  • /trade - Change the current input to the Trade default channel.

Channel Management Commands

  • /create (or /c) - Create a new custom channel. Channel names must start with a "#" symbol and may not contain spaces.
  • /deop - Remove channel operator status from a channel member.
  • /invite (or /i) - Invite a player to a custom channel.
  • /join (or /j) - Join a public custom channel
  • /kick (or /k) - Kick someone out of a private custom channel.
  • /leave (or /l) - Leave a custom channel.
  • /listchannels - Lists channels with names containing
  • /listmembers - Lists all members of a custom channel.
  • /listmuted - Lists all muted members of a private custom channel.
  • /mute (or /m) - Mute a member of a private custom channel.
  • /op - Grant channel operator status to a channel member.
  • /set (or /s) or - Sets a custom channel privacy status to public or private.
  • /unmute (or /um) - unmutes a muted member of a private custom channel.
  • /unmuteall - Unmutes all muted members of a private custom channel.

Contact Management Commands

  • /ignore - Ignores an avatar. All further chat communication from an ignored avatar will be blocked.
  • /listignored - List all ignored avatars.
  • /return (or /r) - Reply to the latest received private whisper.
  • /unignore - Remove ignore status from an avatar.
  • /whisper (or /w) - Send a private whisper to someone.

Miscellaneous Commands

  • /emote (or /em) - Perform the specified emote. use /emote ? for the available emotes.
  • /help (or /?) - View help on a specific command. If a command name is not specified, a list of available commands is displayed.
  • /pos (or /p) - Create a position link with your current coordinates in the text input field.

Why does the auction time sometimes change when I place a bid?

If you place a bid on an item that has 5 minutes or less left of its Auction time, the timer will be reset to five minutes. This will continue until no new bids are placed for a five minute period.

Why is my avatar all gray without any textures?

If your computer does not meet the system requirements for Entropia Universe, not all graphics will be displayed correctly. You can try lowering all graphics settings in Options on the Entropia Universe Login window and in Options inworld.  Apart from this, you should consider upgrading your computer.
